Review: Culture Album by Migos

As most of us are probably aware, the rap group, Migos, have quickly taken over the hip hop/rap scene in the past few years. At the beginning of this year, they released their album, Culture, which has become the groups most successful project to date with the hit single "Bad and Boujee". Most people are familiar with that song, but the album as a whole is a strong piece of music that the Migos display. In this album they solidify the idea that they are here to stay - not just one hit wonders like everyone previously called them.

Like I said, most people are aware of the Migos due to the sensation of the song "Bad and Boujee", which helped bolster the rap group to international stardom. However, there are songs on the album that are just as good or even better in my opinion, which I personally enjoy. My favorite song on the album has to be "T-Shirt" or "Slippery" with Gucci Mane. These songs really allow Migos member Takeoff to shine, since he was left off of the smash hit of Bad and Boujee. In a way, I think it is his way of proving that he didn't need to be on the #1 single of the album to still be a pivotal member of the rap group.

In addition, the group really are at their best when its just the three of them featured on the song. "Call Casting" is a great example of a song on the album where the Migos are truly at their best, going back in forth with each other with similar cadence and flow throughout the song. Culture is a great album by the group. People are anxiously waiting for a new project by the Migos, which they have hinted that a Culture 2 might be on the way. I will happily sit here and listen to the first Culture patiently until the second one comes out!

SUPER SLIMEY - Future + Young Thug Collab Album

Future and Young Thug have made themselves big name rappers in the hip hop/rap scene. They have both proven themselves and to others that they are here to stay, and don't plan on leaving any time soon. Both rappers have their own unique style of trap music, which originated in the south in Atlanta, Georgia. Future and Young Thug dropped a surprise album this weekend titled "SUPER SLIMEY" which features just the two artists with one feature, Offset from Migos. The idea behind the album is that the two rappers try to out rap each other on their own songs on the album and also rap together on songs. The album is honestly nothing special - it is a pretty stereotypical trap sounding album featuring the two artists. R.I.P. Malcom Young

2017 has not been the best year, I think we can all agree on that. It seems like every day I wake up to some bad news, or something happens every week where I just shake my head and wonder wtf is going on in life. We lost another rock legend this year, Malcom Young of AC/DC. AC/DC is one of the greatest rock bands to ever grace this earth, with heavenly jams such as "Back in Black", "Highway to Hell", "Thunderstruck", "Hell's Bells".... the list goes on. Malcom, along with his brother Angus, both founded the band AC/DC in 1973 and the rest was history. Malcom Young had been struggling with a long battle with dementia which ultimately lead to his death. Unfortunately, too, his older brother George Young passed away a few weeks before Malcom.
