Metal Artists Mad at Pop Stars Wearing their Shirts
Some of the old school rockstars and metal artists have been upset about pop stars of the 2000's wearing some of their t-shirts. It started with a tweet from Dee Snider, the frontman of the band Twisted Sister, when he called the new trend of non-metal artists wearing metal t-shirts as "sickening" and later says that the skulls and metal horn imagery belongs to the metal bands exclusively. Among the pop stars that are wearing these metal t-shirts are Justin Bieber, Kanye West, and Rihanna to name a few. Kanye West in particular has used these metal-esque images in his clothing lines, borrowing from bands such as Iron Maiden in order to make his images on t-shirts and other clothing. Beyonce has been using the logo of the band Slayer on t-shirts but instead saying "Slayonce" on her tour shirts.
